Adrian Mauriks

Adrian Mauriks was born in 'S Hertogenbosch, Noord Brabant in 1942 and emigrated to Australia in 1957. He received both his Diploma and Graduate Diploma from the Victorian College of the Arts between 1972 and 1978. Since completing these studies he has held a number of teaching positions, his most recent as the head of department of sculpture at the University of Ballarat. He has held regular one person exhibitions during this time in Melbourne, Sydney, Toowoomba and Wagga Wagga. In 1997 he exhibited at the Stichting Kunst and complex, Rotterdam in the Netherlands and at Andres Gallery in Singapore, 1998. Mauriks has participated in a number of important sculpture exhibitions, curating and participating in the exhibitions Just Sculpture at the Ballarat Fine Art Gallery in 1993 and 15 Sculptors Travelling Exhibition at the National Gallery of Victoria, which toured to all major regional galleries.
