Elizabeth Presa

Elizabeth Presa was born in Melbourne in 1956 but grew up in New York. She completed undergraduate study in sculpture at the Victorian College of the Arts and postgraduate studies at the Philip Institute. She has a BA(Hons) from the University of Melbourne, a Master of Critical Theory from Monash University and is currently completing her PHD at Monash University. Elizabeth Presa has taught sculpture and theory in many art schools including RMIT and the Victorian College of the Arts, where she is Lecturer in Art. She has participated in many selected group exhibitions including the Bendigo Art Gallery's Exquisite Bodies, and has held seven solo exhibitions, the most recent being The Four Horizons of the Page at Linden Gallery, Melbourne. She has been awarded numerous public sculpture commissions, including bronze commissions, and has been the recipient of grants from the Elizabeth Murdoch Sculpture Foundation and the Besen Family Foundation.
