Kate Ellis

Kate Ellis was born in Melbourne in 1966 and received her Bachelor of Fine Art (Sculpture) from the Victorian College of Arts in 1995. She is a founding member the First Floor Artists and Writers Space in Melbourne where she has been involved in many exhibitions, including solo shows in 1994, 1997 and 1998. Her work has been shown in Sydney at Sherman Galleries, CBD and Rubyayre, in Adelaide in Reveal/Conceal at the Adelaide Festival Centre, and at The Physics Room in Christchurch. In 1999 she was the winner of the Darebinlatrobe Acquisitive Art Prize and the Post Postcard Show at linden Gallery in St. Kilda. She is also the co-director and producer of the documentary Portrait' Jane Campion and The Portrait of a Lady.
