Philip Faulks
Philip Faulks was born in St Albans, England in 1959 and migrated to Australia at the age of 17. He studied painting at the Victorian College of Arts, graduating with a Diploma in 1980. He has held ten solo exhibitions since that time in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Faulks has received a number of grants including an Australia Council travelling grant and has travelled extensively in Europe and Asia, including Bali, Thailand and Singapore. His work has been include in many group exhibitions including Twenty Australian Artists at the Galleria San Vidal in Venice, 1990, Inherited Absolutes at ACCA, 1992 and recently National Works on Paper at the Mornington Regional Gallery 1999. He has won a number of public commissions including Transporting Art, a tram painting project, and floral designs for the City of Melbourne 1995 and The Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show.
